The sturdiness and heaviness is why I gave this desk a higher rating. We bought it to have an area for our son who has to do remote learning next year. It took over 3 hours to put together. It came with missing hardware. The top of the desk came damaged. The pre drilled holes were not nearly big enough which caused a lot of headaches trying to get the screws in. Once put together it does look nice (minus ours being damaged) and is heavy and sturdy.
