Review on πŸ’Ώ Samsung 970 PRO NVMe 1TB M.2 PCI-E 3.0 x 4 SSD (V-NAND) - High-Performance Storage Solution by Eric Wright

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nearly the best NVME SSD for enthusiasts

I received this to upgrade my Razer Blade 15 2019 Advanced Edition. Although it has all the high specs, it only comes with a 512GB NVME SSD. It was very fast on its own, but I needed a bigger SSD so I could install more programs and games. I wanted the best consumer SSD money can buy to go with everything else in the laptop and I didn't want the SSD to be the bottleneck. I received it and can say that it is exactly as advertised and described in the reviews. In practice, you might not notice much of a difference if you're already using a different NVME SSD. I should mention that while it has outperformed my original SSD by a lot in multiple tests, there is one area where this SSD isn't as fast. Using CrystalDiskMark, this 970 Pro scored very well in 7 out of 8 tests. Where it loses is sequential read speed, as my original NVME SSD still performs better, although not by much. What makes this SSD different is the write speed. In fact, this is one area where you will definitely notice and feel the difference when using it in real life. I love taking snapshots and disk images as I handle my laptop a lot and when I imaged this SSD I couldn't help but notice how much faster it is than my original SSD. In real tests, you can of course also see how high the writing speeds are. So if cost is not an issue, this is a very good NVME SSD.
