We just bought two of these carriers for our two cats and used them on a Southwest Airlines flight. Before that, we mainly used hard cases to take our animals to the vet. We were looking for a carrier that would meet the requirements of most airlines, meaning it would fit comfortably under an airplane seat and also have enough room for cats. We have both a large and small cat and it was a bit "comfortable" but fine for our 18lb weight. We appreciate that they have room to insert a luggage handle, making them very convenient to use with a suitcase. And they seem to be well made. The only downside is that they can be a little bulky without a case. The strap is a little awkward to use so I held mine in my hand while my wife, who had our smaller cat, usually carried hers in her arms. We figured if you could still make something like this, foldable, fit under the seat, and somehow have wheels and a handle, that would be perfect, but I'm not sure it's really feasible, especially at this price point.
