Review on 🔍 Craftsman 17816 9-17816 Wet Dry Vac Cartridge Filter - Fits 5/6/8/12/16/32 Gallon Vacuums - Replacement Filter - 2 Pack by Justin Ellingson

Like some other reviews, these filters do not fit. I clearly listed the model in the info (170250) but when I went to install the new filter it was very difficult to push it on and I need to work on getting it to fit. I also have a filter plate, not a glued plate. This means that the screw must protrude just far enough for the plastic nut to be screwed on. I had just replaced the filter with a new one so I needed it immediately but wanted to check these out as they had a bonded back plate. I'll try again to get it working, but I'm in doubt. I don't want to have air leaks at the bottom of the screw. The part number is the same as theirs and the original has a red stripe. Update: I double checked and now understand why the fit is so snug. Someone decided to swap out the part and glue the filter plate onto the filter and put a plug where the threaded part goes through. If you make the seat that tight, it shouldn't fall off, especially when vacuuming. This eliminates the problems of losing or crossing the plastic nut and bolt previously used to tighten the filter. This is just my theory but it works for me so I'm giving it a different star.
