I modified an 18v Milwaukee Power Wheels adapter to power this charger. The USB-C port stops charging after about 10 seconds and there is noticeable heat on the outside of the device. All other ports work and charge devices quickly as expected. The device directly says that it accepts 12-24V and an 18V battery; is within the specified voltage range. It could just be a bad block. Unfortunately I didn't try it in the car (12V) to check the functionality before starting the project. I will buy a second one and update this review. ***UPDATE*** The second unit has arrived and it works perfectly on both 12V and 18V. The original one ripped and several metal objects fell out, one of which got stuck to the adhesive (see photo). After the metal shavings were removed, everything worked great. 4 out of 5 stars.
