Hate the arrogant "LOWRANCE" on your console? Want to get rid of that annoying visual logo? I hate it when a manufacturer takes a simple product and ruins it by putting their company logo on the product in letters so big you think I have a billboard on my boat. Why do you think I would want to use my life, property and position to promote who you are and what you have done by putting an ugly, blatant company logo on a product I have purchased? Here is a solution to solve this problem. a simple plastic fish finder screen cover. Take your Dremel tool and place a soft buffing/buffing pad on it. Attach masking tape to the outer top and bottom edges of the "LOWARANCE" letters. Then gently buff the blue paint on each letter. The tape prevents the buff from hitting the plastic on the outside of the letters. What you get will look like "wood grain" on each letter where you have polished the paint on each letter which looks like white wooden letters contrasting against a solid white plastic background. It doesn't take long to polish the blue paint. but you inevitably leave those little gaps in each letter when you polish the paint. Takes about 30 minutes. In fact, it looks nice and unique if you look closely, and from a foot away you won't even notice the letter is there unless you get close to the cover. THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED! Now I don't have the ugly LOWRANCE billboard on my boat anymore. It's better than the original cover. You can even do this for every cover they create or just put a very small 10 letter cover logo in the bottom left or right corner of the cover. All in all, paying $26 for these covers is still too expensive. You should have included a screen protector in the original sonar packaging!
