Review on BV Adjustable Bicycle Kickstand: Concealed Spring-Latch for 24-29 Inch Bike – Ultimate Stability and Convenience! by James Auzenne

Stable footrest but pedal binding

I thought it would take 5 minutes. Turns out I couldn't get the bolt into the hardware after a few turns and I had to take it to a bike shop to have it installed. After it was installed I found that it interfered with my pedal and they got stuck requiring me to lift the rear wheel of my bike to spin the pedal and disengage it from the stand. I tried canting the footpeg so it was closer to the frame and farther from the pedal and that would work for a use or two before the footpeg pivoted out and got in the way of the pedal again. I think the hardware needs rubber to better grip the frame so it doesn't rotate clockwise when in use. But no matter how tight I tighten it, after 2-3 uses, the plate holding the stand to the frame rotates clockwise so slightly that the stand buckles and interferes with my pedal. I have a 3000 gauge.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Not bad
