Strong but difficult to tighten.

It installs well and I like that it doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. It took a few times to actually tighten the nut on the bike enough so that it didn't come loose during our bike rides. I really don't think the lock washer actually works that well. Regular use of the jiffy stand and the weight of the bike seem to stress this nut, causing it to turn and loosen. I also noticed that it's not that tight. I have to constantly adjust it. When my friend rides, I see that his pedal just doesn't have…

Will not work on Fuji touring bikes - be careful

Will not work on touring bikes. There was no top mounting plate for the stand so I used the top plate. I tightened the nut until the washer started to break. Regardless, the bottom plate rotated when I folded the stand back to unfold, and kept pushing my foot until it got in the way of the left pedal. I was concerned about this situation before purchasing, but the high ratings put me off. Now the paint on my lower frame is scratched and I don't have a footrest. It looks like some sort of rubber

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Fastening material is not as shown.

I have no issues with the stand itself; it can be good or bad. I haven't had time to test it yet. The problem is with the supplied mounting screw. The photo clearly shows that the longer screw should be a hex screw. It's not like this. This is a button head screw with a recessed hex head. This change makes it impossible to mount it securely on my Trek bike, since the gear cable is mounted directly above the footrest. There is no gap to allow the use of a hex key. It could easily be secured with

  • Decent performance

Stable footrest but pedal binding

I thought it would take 5 minutes. Turns out I couldn't get the bolt into the hardware after a few turns and I had to take it to a bike shop to have it installed. After it was installed I found that it interfered with my pedal and they got stuck requiring me to lift the rear wheel of my bike to spin the pedal and disengage it from the stand. I tried canting the footpeg so it was closer to the frame and farther from the pedal and that would work for a use or two before the footpeg pivoted out…

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Not bad

Bought two of these and installed them on my sons mountain bikes - installation was easy, everything went smoothly. No problem. Also, with the ability to adjust the length, we were able to get the right length so the bike sits at a good angle. What I didn't like is the black bottom part - the part that slides out - it's plastic. , as well as the holes/tabs where you adjust it. For that reason alone I doubt the durability and am concerned that they will break or the cleats will break and become…

Spins and falls over

UPDATE: The seller refunded my purchase so thanks for that. But this review is for the item, not the seller. TLDR: I do not recommend this product as the stand slowly rotated under the weight of the bike and fell to the ground. The kickstand can be installed in two ways: - #1: If you have a top-to-bottom hole between the chainstays, use a short screw and attach the footplate without an additional plate - #2: If you don't have a hole top to bottom and instead just have empty space between the…

Terrible. The screw does not fit the threaded hole from the box.

The installation *should* take no more than a minute. The bike already had a plate for it, so I tried using the included thumbscrew (short) for a nice and clean install. No, it doesn't fit. I spent a few minutes before giving up and returning it (I had to dry it first). I tried a hex bolt and after a few turns it froze. It wasn't until I pushed the screw all the way in and then back out with a wrench that I was able to loosen the threads enough for the short screw to work. Attempt 2 went well…

Best stand, no exceptions

Edit: I just went to the hardware store to buy another longer bolt to mount this stand to another bike. It was a 3/8-16 screw. I used a 2.5" bolt on the new bike as the ones supplied were not long enough. Before purchasing this stand I was never satisfied with the regular stands that come with bikes. They were either too big or too short. there is no real way to set them. Changing a tire (from a solid tire to a street tire) would change the height of the bike, making the universal stand…

Critical Design Defect

This product would be good if it did not have a Critical Design Defect that makes it unsuitable for use in a non-mounting plate configuration. But first: the good guys. The production numbers of this stand seem to be quite high. I was very impressed with the variable length locking mechanism. I was afraid he might be clumsy or flimsy. That's definitely not true. It's well-designed, simple, and doesn't seem to easily break or get muddled, even when its length is adjusted many times. It's so…
