Edit: I just went to the hardware store to buy another longer bolt to mount this stand to another bike. It was a 3/8-16 screw. I used a 2.5" bolt on the new bike as the ones supplied were not long enough. Before purchasing this stand I was never satisfied with the regular stands that come with bikes. They were either too big or too short. there is no real way to set them. Changing a tire (from a solid tire to a street tire) would change the height of the bike, making the universal stand unstable. This kickstand is truly amazing. First off, it's relatively light - .66 weighs twice as much, if not more. Second, the setting is very simple. Press the tab, slide the adjustable section to the desired height, and install. No screws or complicated mechanisms. was the length. This fits on 24" to 29" wheels. The footpeg fitted my 29er mountain bike easily and felt very solid as I could fine tune the height. but for me it is a useful feature. I've had bikes fall over when leaning against something. No bicycle has ever fallen through this footrest. Now I'm building this on my road bike and it's worth it. Dropping an expensive carbon bike sucks, let alone damaging the frame or components. It prevents that thought from even existing. For true mountain bikers, I've taken this on the trails and in a few significant falls and the stand has never fallen off. The mechanism is so solid and makes a very reassuring click when you push it in or out. It also works great on the road with a road bike. No noise or bumps. In summary, this kickstand is rock solid, fits most bikes on the market, is easy to adjust without tools and works great even on mountain trails. I would have no hesitation in buying one for every bike I own just for the ease of adjustment and how good this stand is. If you are unsure about a purchase, don't think twice. The screws included in the kit can be changed to the size you need by contacting your local hardware store. I have a 3/8-16 bolt, 2.5" to be exact.
