For emergencies in a hurricane area with a power outage, a hand crank radio is great.

An absolute must for people living in a hurricane area prone to power outages is a hand crank radio. This works very well to give you access to power if your power goes out. I highly recommend you have this in case of an emergency. I bought this for my sister who lives in South Florida and it has helped me a lot through many hurricanes. We just moved to Florida and ended up buying the same one. The price is very reasonable. Highly recommended.
