10 hours. The auto shut-off that comes with the duvet works on a separate timer. This is one of those timers that plugs into the wall separately. You need to set the right time on the timer, after that you need to pull out the right number of pins to set the time you want the blanket to stay on. I figured the auto shut off would be in the controller connected to the ceiling. The blanket itself has no actual instructions. It says nothing about the preheat mode, how to use it, or how it works. I haven't tried using a blanket. I will update later UPDATE in 1 day. The blanket heats up as expected, but what surprises me is that the back of the controller stays constantly warm even when it's switched off, but only slightly warm. It's still weird.
