4 stars for cleanability without scratching. I have absolute confidence that I can use them and clean my expensive pots to their full potential without worrying about damaging anything. Great for everyday use. Need another Brillo for a hard brush. 1 star for the price. I think I bought my first one from a local box shop out of curiosity. $5 or $6 for a sponge. I thought it must be the greatest and last forever. which brings me to the next point. 1 star for durability. No, it didn't last forever. In fact, it broke down much quicker than any sponge I've ever used. Make sure you have drain caps as I'm really worried about parts breaking off and going down the drain. Never use them to clean knives or other sharp objects that could snag, cut or ruin your Scrub Daddy. I actually have to hold a regular sponge because mop dad can't do any of that. Although I only use it to wash certain things and if I don't clean it I'm actually trying to take care of it, it starts to fall apart right after the first few uses. I can't do anything to prevent this. 1 star for shape. Scrub Daddy's cheerful smile looks cute at first, but after a few uses it resembles Edvard Munch's The Scream. And besides, it's a pathetic mess of dirt on the bottom of my sink. I'm also convinced that the shape (the ripples on the edge and the cutouts for the face) makes Scrub Daddy less durable than if it were a hard sponge. All that extra surface to grab onto speeds up the breaking process, and there are plenty of surfaces that end up breaking to pieces. The ripple comes off. The lower jaw falls off. Etc. The unconventional shape and thickness of the sponge also does not make it suitable for every standard size sponge holder. I leave mine on the floor of the sink. The good news is that it doesn't get uncomfortable or smelly. That gives 0.4 stars for the dry season. Scrub Daddy does not retain water and does not contain any unpleasant odors. I ended up averaging the stars and it turned out to be a 2.2 star product for me. After the first one I bought locally fell apart I ordered this colorful pack. by Raven. The price was better than buying them individually. But I don't like colors other than yellow. The sponges in the multipack broke just as quickly. I'm not sure why I was hoping the first one was a fluke and the later ones would be better. But it wasn't. How much do these sponges cost and how quickly do they end up in the trash. I just have to say that this will probably be my last purchase. But if Scrub Daddy makes them solid with no cutouts or burrs, or just makes them more durable, I might give them another try. UPDATE: I just saw that there is a solid rectangle from Scrub Daddy (Heavy Duty). now with good reviews but at Revain it's almost $8 for 1 sponge :(
