A good tool works well if you can put it together. The one I received had the plastic molded or glued on to prevent the ruler from slipping through. I managed to take a flat file and cut it so the ruler went in the central plastic letter "T". After that it worked fine. Punch is a nice touch. but depending on what you're working with, it can be difficult to hold the gauge and apply enough pressure to the plunger to make it work. I ended up just using my cordless drill to make the starting holes in the right place. It worked great and I was very happy with the metal rings on the guide so you don't damage the tool with the drill bit. Good value for money! PS The seller offered me a replacement if I can't assemble it.
