Review on GIGABYTE GB BSRE 1505 Integrated Graphics Bluetooth by Eric Owens

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bare system, must provide RAM and storage!

I was confused when the system would not boot until I realized the advertised maximum supported was 32GB and not what was included. Remember that you must provide your own RAM and storage! I'll update this review once I get one myself and actually turn on the device. Edit: The device works as expected. The Wi-Fi card seems very sensitive to overheating. Be careful when using an M.2 slot for storage as the drive will overlap. If you don't have a drive on the wifi chip it works fine, otherwise (in my case) the connection drops or the system crashes completely because the chip just stops responding. There is cooling. sufficient. Since the fan only cools one side of the motherboard (the CPU is on the bottom), it can fry a little on the side when cooling is inactive, which isn't a big deal if you're not concerned about your WiFi going down because you started a quick start. This is made easier in my case since I'm using Ethernet, but it's worth noting. Since there is only one fan and it is not small, it is actually very quiet. Performance is as expected for a mobile chipset, I have no complaints about the application I'm using it for.

Pros
  • Integrated GPU - Radeon Vega 8 Graphics
Cons
  • Some difficulties
