I had some experience with WD hard drives before, some worked fine, others failed - nothing special so after reading many reviews I decided to buy four WD Red 4 -TB drives for my new Synology NAS from a third party and Revain supplied Prime. After receiving the drives, I installed and formatted them with no problems. Sixteen months later, one of the drives failed, showing multiple I/O errors and bad sectors. Well I thought it would happen, on the WD website you can see my hard drive is covered for a few more years only I get a replacement. I contacted WD support hoping to get a new drive under warranty. nope They asked for my Revain invoice and after checking it they replied that this disc should be covered by the seller's warranty as I received it from a third party and they deny the manufacturer's warranty. Hardware fails, and it's not uncommon, but denying a warranty for this reason is just ridiculous. Many thanks to Revain's excellent customer support team - they helped me resolve this issue quickly and to my complete satisfaction. Needless to say, I will never buy WD drives again.
