My teeth started out quite white but after 5 uses I would say they are a shade (maybe 2) lighter. Manage your expectations as this product is softer than strips so tooth sensitivity will be less (if any). This was a huge benefit - I experienced pain (particularly around my bottom teeth) after using the strips for a long time, which was not the case with emulsions. I'm happy to trade a longer treatment time for a quick and painful one, so this product is for the patient! The secret of proper use: 1. Brush well (and ideally floss).2. Bare your teeth (Think Grrrrr!) and push your lower jaw forward slightly, sucking out the excess saliva and swallowing hard. Quickly wipe the lower teeth with a clean cloth and apply the product starting from the bottom near the gums (saliva collects here first). Now breathe through your mouth, tilt your head back to avoid getting saliva on your lower teeth, and swallow if necessary. Now wipe your upper teeth with a washcloth and apply the product - don't forget to clean between your teeth! Use a generous amount for even coverage.6. Continue walking barefoot and breathe through your mouth for a good 30 seconds before closing your lips over your teeth. WIPE THE TIP OF THE APPLICATOR WITH A SQUARE TOILET PAPER SO IT WILL NOT COVER ON THE NEXT USE! Refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, etc. for at least an hour. I do this before bed to get the most benefit. Tip: Brush again to remove product before eating or drinking. I drank my morning coffee before brushing and felt like it soaked up the stain, so brush first and drink with a "clean taste".
