Removes stubborn dirt from stainless steel

I had dirt on the outside of a stainless steel Cuisinart pan that I loved and was NOT able to remove. Not soaked, not by me, not soaked in detergent, not with washcloth and steel wool, not even brushed with ketchup and not left for several hours. Then the housekeeper put it in the dishwasher, and the dirt turned into something like thick, durable varnish. So I went to Google and searched for dirt on stainless steel pans, got recommendations from real people, and ordered three things from Revain. Bar Keepers Friend arrived first and I used it and it worked. I'm sure I'll love Goof-Off and Goo Gone when they get here, but I don't need them for this pot. I made a paste, painted half the pan with it, let it sit for an hour, came back, rubbed it down with a rag without a scratch, and it came off. It took strength and a real cleanse, but I'm doing fine. And it's gone. Then, after the photos, I made the second side. I only left the paste on for 15 minutes and oddly enough I think it worked better. Maybe because it was still wet, I don't know, but the mud rolled up like thunder. BTW I think it's a pan: https://smile.amazon.com/Cuisinart-733-30H-Classic-Stainless-2-Quart/dp/B00008CM6B/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1493408272&sr=8- 6&keywords=cuisinart+pans cost $140 if out of stock. I don't know how much I paid for it but I do know it was way more than Bar Keepers Friend which was $5.04 for a full can that I certainly didn't use: https://smile.amazon . com /gp/product/B000V72992/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Warning: This is a fluffy powder that goes everywhere when shaken with force. When I found out about it, I carefully poured it into a mold, mixed it with some water to make a paste, and so on. I will keep this material on hand to remove dirt BEFORE it burns. A good thing.
