Whatever I did to lose my first bracelet (which was at least 25 years old), I can't find it. So I ordered two more from Miles Kimball. This tool has proved invaluable to me on bracelets with unreliable clasps. I'm a tool freak and frustrated with this generation. The alligator clip tension is ridiculously strong - such closing force is not required. Also, the teeth are too deep. There is a real possibility of damaging the metal of the bracelet. While waiting for delivery, I tried plastic tipped jewelry pliers and found that they would work as well. Since the price was so cheap I'll see if I can improve the tools by filing the teeth and holding the clamp as much as possible (to see if I can reduce the tension). Note: Tooth filing has proven its worth.
