I used to buy the USB version which I still have and liked it so much I bought this to use with my external audio interfaces. I've been using the Audio Technica 4033A for many years and it's still great for a lot of things. I don't have the strongest voice and I love the colors and harmonies this mic adds to my voice. If you're looking for something clean to pick up you might not like this, but if you want to add something downright unique to your collection with a nice little sizzle, you'll love it. I think it would still be a good choice for those doing podcasts or voiceovers. This is a really good microphone.
