Couldn't be more disappointed!

***WARNING*** 3-30-21 I UNDERSTAND WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS APPLIANCE. THE FILTER IS MORE CONICAL SO ONLY THE UPPER TOP OF THE FILTER REALLY DOES ANYTHING. THIS MEANS THAT A VERY SMALL PORTION OF THE FILTER WILL BE TAKEN WITH DUST AND MOST OF THE FILTER DOES NOTHING. AFTER USING THE VACUUM CLEANER 2-3 TIMES THE FILTER WILL BE REMOVED RESULTING IN VERY VERY BAD VACUUM CLEANING. WHEN THE FILTER IS ACCEPTED, THE VACUUM CLEANER NO LONGER CLEANS THE CARPETS OR CARPETS BUT ABRASES THE DIRT DEEP INTO THE FIBERS. THE ONLY WAY TO FIGHT THIS IS TO BUY ANOTHER FILTER AND CHANGE THEM IF IT LOOKS DIRTY, OR PULL THE FILTERS OUT AND CLEAN AFTER EVERY 2 OR 3 USE. FOAM FILTER.*** I was very happy with our original Shark purchase about ten years ago. I believe this is the white pro version of the Lift Away series. We still use it in our basement. It was a top notch performance from day one. We couldn't be happier with that. So I was sure that this time we would get an even better device! I couldn't be more wrong. My wife immediately noticed that this new device lacked some of the suction power of the old one. There was still dog hair on our only carpet. We have a white dog and a dark carpet, so it's hard to miss. I wiped it off thinking she must have used the wrong settings. Until recently, I used a vacuum cleaner myself. What is this crap! We literally have a 7x10 rug and this thing leaves dog hair all over it. I spent half an hour filming everything. I'm trying on both roles, one role. Air damper closed, ajar, fully open. All filters checked. NOTHING WORKED! So, I have an old vacuum cleaner and yes. Got it right. All hair is gone. I found this vacuum great on hardwoods but terrible on carpets. I went back to the 7x10 rug that I had just spent 30 minutes on with our old vacuum and picked up another half canister of dust and hair that the new one was rubbing into the rug. Also, UNDER the carpet itself was a ton of sand! That never happened with the old Shark vacuum. We raised the carpet once a month, and there was no such sandpit, sprinkled with sand. Unfortunately, our return window has closed due to this junk. So I have to eat the $350 I spent on it. The old shark is also out of production so I guess I should try the Dyson this time.
