Saved my toes from frostbite

On a late fall day, I underestimated the snow conditions in the Adirondacks and ventured to two distant peaks in ankle-length, waterproof shoes made for trail running. Luckily I only wore these leggings to save my pants from the Adirondack mud. These leggings fit well and close just below the knee. As expected, there was no snow for 3 miles. but as soon as we got higher we went to 1 foot of snow at a lower elevation, and soon we were tracing a knee-deep path in the snow. Eventually my feet got cold but I kept climbing to keep them warm. That day I walked knee deep in the snow for more than 7 hours. I must admit that without this gaiter it was now possible to return from such a path without getting frostbite. If you spend a lot of time in the snow, you won't go wrong with these gaiters.
