Review on ๐Ÿ–ฑ๏ธ SteelSeries Rival 710: The Ultimate Gaming Mouse with TrueMove3 Optical Sensor, OLED Display, Tactile Alerts, and RGB Lighting - Black by Charity Holloway

Very comfortable for long sessions.

My previous mouse died after 2.5 years of use (quite disappointing for a high end mouse) so I decided to switch companies and try something different. While I've used SteelSeries mousepads before, I've never bought their peripherals, so putting the money into a high-end mouse was a bit of a leap of faith. I don't really play games anymore, but I tend to think gaming mice have some of the best ergonomics for long sessions, and that's certainly true here. Build quality feels premium right out of the box, and the aesthetics are a bit understated, which I prefer to some models that look like some kind of stealth fighter with LEDs everywhere. The lighting control software is pretty easy to use and the mouse has a lot of buttons that I use myself. There's one surprising feature, and that's the LED bar on the side of the mouse, which shows the SteelSeries logo by default but can be customized with pixel art to show something else. I'm not exactly sure how many people will be looking at the inside of my mouse, but I imagine this would be a cool place to personalize it with your team's or sponsor's logo if you're into esports interested? Also, it seems like a pretty useless feature. In any case, it is important that the mouse sits comfortably in the hand and is therefore comfortable to use even when sitting at the computer for hours. It's extremely responsive and has a button that lets you quickly toggle between two preset sensitivity settings, which is useful for both gaming and apps like Photoshop, where you can lower the mouse's sensitivity for some tasks. Again, the setup software is incredibly intuitive and well thought out. I haven't had a mouse in a very long time, so these are more first impressions than anything else. I can't speak to its durability but straight away it's a great mouse and one of the best I've ever used. My only real complaint is that there was no SteelSeries decal in the box, which has nothing to do with anything other than my fetish for branded decals.
