Ok I've used this and I have mixed feelings about it. I moved into an apartment that had a very dirty carpet in one room and now that I don't have the money to replace it I decided to live with it. After the hired Rug Doctor cleaned up most of the dirt, I still had a few stains left to try and get up. I can identify some spots but not all. I had some vegetable rust stains, air vent stains, ink stains, what appeared to be a lollipop that had been sitting on the carpet too long and I think a few coffee stains. The carpet is a thick, low-pile, almost white carpet. I don't know what kind of substance it is. Excuse me. Catch rust stains from plants, foul the vents and what I take for coffee is fine. Not very good with ink or candy. And there are some spots that I just don't know what they are and it didn't work on them. I've used it 2 or 3 times on factory and air vent stains and actually rubbed the powder into the carpet with the brush. You'll need a smaller outline brush to work the finish. Im impressed she got the spots she did.
