I bought 2 of these lights to replace my existing round lights in an L shaped dressing room. This SMD LED light is exactly as described (brightness 18W/1440 lumens, color temperature 6000K, metal frame), hence 5 stars for it. Installing the crossbar bracket and wiring was easy, as was attaching the LED light to this crossbar. My only warning: you must know the APPLICATION in which we intend to install it. I loved the switch from GLOBE to SURFACE MOUNT (ie less chance of accidentally hitting/breaking the crystal ball when adding/removing items from the top shelves). However, these bulbs can shine in ALL directions (including sideways) in a circular fixture, while these surface mount bulbs only emit a "cone of light" DOWN from where they are mounted on the ceiling. In my case, this means that I have excellent lighting with these LED lights on 2/3 of my L-shaped case, but the area in the middle of the corner that used to be lit by both spheres is now less brightly lit. I replaced a compact fluorescent lamp. (CFL) with an LED bulb in either shade but when the second CFL bulb blew out I decided to switch to these surface mounted LED lights. If I had only installed a 2nd LED bulb I would have kept the best average lighting and only lived with the possibility of the glass ball accidentally breaking. If you are planning to install them on a square area, you will probably be very satisfied. If not, think twice before going from sphere to surface mount.
