The DMR-EZ485V firmware is slow and prone to freezing but when the unit is working properly it works fine. I have a lot of issues with this device, but I'm willing to put up with some "incomprehensible" firmware because of the features this device offers. Tip: Don't buy a new unit, buy a Revain refurbished Panasonic unit. at half the price it will work better as it will most likely be running the latest firmware from Panasonic. It was probably a new unit returned by a disappointed customer who bought it brand new and paid twice as much! If Panasonic were willing to put in the effort, they could get a top-notch product here. Unfortunately, they don't seem to care.
