Last year, I changed the Archer C1200 router to AX73 aka 5400, and the repeater remained the same TL-WA855RE. It only supported a 2.4GHz network and on devices I constantly had to switch wifi between the router and the repeater, choosing either speed or signal strength. I decided to put an end to this, so that there was a stable and fast 5GHz wifi throughout the apartment. Looking ahead, I’ll say right away that this repeater coped with the task! In far rooms, where with the old repeater it was 30-50Mbps, this one at 5GHz gives out 120-200Mbps, depending on the device. And this is even with all the doors closed! Secondly, due to OneMesh, there is no need to select a router or repeater on the device, just connect to wifi 5G and don’t worry about who exactly is distributing the Internet to you at the moment - it turns out equally quickly and stably. The only thing I noticed is that on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 the device sees 2 networks with the same name and for the second one (from the repeater) it was necessary to re-enter the password, and on iPhones and Lenovo tablets it sees, as it should, one subnet and switching happens seamlessly. Perhaps this is some kind of feature of Samsung's proprietary OneUI? I didn’t manage to auto-configure using the WPS buttons, on the tablet, through the Tether application, I quickly connected the repeater to the subnets of the router, and then completed the fine-tuning via the web interface, in particular, ated the firmware to the latest version. Everything is very convenient and user friendly, respect to TP-Link! The device, as such, has no drawbacks, except for the price - for 6K you can buy a full-fledged router, but you cannot connect 2 routers via OneMesh. In addition, the device is noticeably larger and heavier than the previous repeater, perhaps the filling in it is no less than in the router, just the purpose is different. A separate stone in the amazon garden - ordered through it, after 2 days, on the day of delivery, they send sms that they cannot deliver on time and ate the order status after 48 hours (what? !). In another store they brought it on the same day!
