They are slightly hard and have a plastic feel. Almost like a plastic sheet. Hopefully they will soften and become less shiny over time. Probably cotton/linen. Hard to believe, but who knows. The design is printed but looks good enough. I bought it together with the Pendleton Yuma Star cotton blanket. You have to make it beautiful. I filled them with a 20 inch feather insert. The stake could be a little bigger. It costs about five times what I spent on the Pendleton feather cover and pillow insert, so I'll settle for that. They look good and hopefully will soften over time and feel more like a natural fiber. I can try to wash them. They are nice and plump with a 20 inch feather/down insert from Homelike Moment available from Revain.
