Review on πŸ“Έ Opteka M900: 71-Inch 5 Section Ultra Heavy Duty Monopod - Max Load 30 lbs by Brandon Wong

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for my needs

I've had a 67" Dolica WT-1003 monopod for over 2 years and it's worked really well for me. It's starting to show signs of wear as it's been through the Weight slid down and the bag's zip came unzipped. It didn't take much for me to use my Nikon D5100 camera with professional battery grip and Manfrotto 498RC2 quick release ball head to take photos and video my son's sporting events. An extra few inches is handy (mine is 6ft 3 inches tall) if you're shooting in the stands. When folded it takes up almost as much space as a Dolica monopod. It feels more solid in your hands and should hold up much better outdoors than the Dolica. Monopods are a fast and stable Medium to long range photo and video platform I have no problem using the Opteka M900 j to be recommended to everyone. UPDATE: October 1, 2014; The monopod worked great during the spring/summer track and field events and summer vacation. I had to use a hex wrench to tighten one of the friction locks about 1/8 turn because it was slipping. Hope to use for many years.
