It's better to put on ski gloves or freeze your fingers! Most blocks of ice have to be pushed individually from below. A flexible "tray" is required for filling, which fits on a flat tray or cutting board to minimize spillage when pouring from a cup. At least this model has a small rim to reduce spillage. Not worth the price!
