As has been said the button will crack after about 6 months depending on how often you use the soap function. I've been a loyal customer for over 5 years and have found this to be the best dishwashing wand after testing several others including another OXO model that loads soap at the push of a button (I want to talk about using dish soap quickly - this is the worst!). I use a pump or two to load dishes. Also, the amount of soap leaking out depends on the amount of soap in the stick itself, the small amount of soap, the weak diffusion of soap, etc. It's 8 dollars. Because of the ease of use and its function, I will continue to buy and use it.
