They are adjustable for Rope Lights

We installed these lights as a backdrop in our house. I think they were a lot brighter than we initially thought. I never thought about whether we need to use a dimmer or not and none of the literature mentioned anything about it. I ordered a dimmer anyway and decided to try it because I found the light to be too bright. The dimmer worked great! They seem to fade away at whatever level we choose. It was a nice surprise because we didn't know if they could be manipulated like that. Basically we are very satisfied with the light.
