. I had the 'opportunity' to use this thing just a few days after ordering it. When towing a vehicle, there are many other things to consider aside from whether your tow strap is still attached to the recovery vehicle. This thing makes it a matter of preparation and you can beat it out of your mind. The only things I'm not very happy with are the red plastic works that didn't really stay in place or the D-Links that I bought at the store. the same company. But they also seem completely unnecessary, so I'm not too concerned about that. The threads on the shackle, like those on D-Liberway links, keep out dirt and snow and are easy to hook and thread, which is important in tricky situations when you don't want to deal with flimsy threads. There were a few rubber washers or whatever that got lost in the snow on first use, but their absence didn't seem to matter. Taking this thing apart until its metal components are fully functional, easy to operate even with thick gloves in the cold, and you can get one variable out of your head while you recover.
