EXTENDED REVIEW AFTER 1 WEEKI bought the 4 pack/BR30. They are pretty much what I was hoping for; just to create a little ambiance in my family room, and to adjust lighting when watching TV.A few issues I had with the initial set-up (most of which were basically my fault, but easy to do) to keep in mind with these things:First, immediately when installing the Linkind app on my Iphone I was instructed that the app is no longer supported, and that I would need to download an app called AiDotSecond, AiDot does NOT steer you to an initial WIFI setup network like most smart devices do. It just has you screw in the bulb, turn on the light switch, and then hit NEXT on the app. Well, I did that like 3 times, and every time I got "NO DEVICES FOUND" I was just about to give up, and return them when I thought to check what WIFI NW I was on on my Iphone. I checked, and I was on 5G. These devices only work on 2.4. I switched over, and the app immediately found the bulb(s); no problem.Obviously my mistake here; but, if the app does not provide a dedicated WIFI channel for initial setup, they should at least remind you to be on a 2.4G NW and/or come back with an error telling you that as such--like "HEY STUPID--YOU NEED TO BE ON 2.4 G WIFI" Instead, it just returns "NO DEVICES FOUND"Third, after the initial setup, I noticed the bulbs were sometimes flickering. Also, they started going offline--like every 30-60 minutes. Again, I was thinking that these things suck. Then, I forget where I read it, but somewhere in the fine print it stated "do not use with dimmer switch". Well, I was using it with a dimmer. My intentions were to replace it anyway after installing these bulbs, I just hadn't done it prior.I replaced the dimmer, and so far (about a week) they have not gone offline again, and the flicker is gone .So to summarize, before initial install/setup--DO NOT HAVE A DIMMER SWITCH & VERIFY YOU ARE ON 2.4 g (VS 5) WIFI with your phone*******************************************************************************So, how do they work?APPIt's OK. Without getting into all the minutia, a little clunky but it's fine. You can adjust colors, brightness, on/off & create scenes. For those who have had issues making each bulb the same color etc .it's simple to create groups. Control the GROUP, not the individual bulb. i.e. I have 4 bulbs, and 3 groups. FAMILY ROOM ALL (all 4 bulbs), FAMILY ROOM FRONT(2 bulbs), FAMILY ROOM REAR (2 bulbs). So either through the app, or Alexa I can control each bulb separately (which I never really do) the Front 2, Rear 2, or the whole room. You can also run your own scenes for the GROUPS and/or individual bulbs and there are a bunch of PRESETS for some fairly cool effects. The AiDot app has pretty lukewarm reviews in the apple store, but it isn't horrible really.Bulbs ThemselvesThe colors are nice and vivid, but do NOT expect to light up the entire room with them. Out of the gazillion colors; only like ONE of em, which I assume is the native 2700k Warm White, will light up the room with any type of intensity. Even the Daylight/Bright White is not very bright. But, that one color, the Warm White, does get nice and bright. I'm fine with this, as I was not expecting to have blinding colored lights, but just to use the colors as an ambiance-type thing. As long as I can brightly light the room when I want (which I could) with one color, I'm fine. After removing the dimmer, I have had no flickering or crackling or anything like that. ALso, they have stayed online and have been very stableebay Alexa IntegrationI don't use Google Home, or any others, so I can't comment on those, but linking with Alexa worked great and was simple. From the App, go to INTEGRATION--> ebay Alexa, and it linked to my ebay account no problems. All my individual bulbs, as well as groups automatically showed up in Alexa. I can control on/off, brightness and color for each. Oddly, the scenes I set up in AiDot showed up in Alexa as well--but, they are not functional. As with most all smart devices--Alexa provides a functional amount of control, but for full control, it's best to use the native app. Same deal here. This is fine with me, as I just set up Routines in Alexa and use those (instead of using the scenes from AiDot) Voice control as worked without problems. So overall, not PERFECT; a smarter setup routine (and smarter installer guy probably) smoother more refined app, brighter colors (besides Warm White), and App scenes being functional in Alexa; all would have been great; but, I'd buy these again. So far, they are staying online, they work without flicker and/or odd noises, can totally brighten my room when I want or provide colored mood lighting when I want, and seamlessly integrated with Alexa.
