Review on 🎧 Optical Bluetooth Transmitter Wireless Headphones for TV Watching - makemate BKM200 Digital TV Headsets, Easy Plug & Charge, up to 165ft Wireless Range, Crystal Stereo - Black by James Vilchez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good price, decent sound, only one downside + upgrade on second and third purchase

Another upgrade, bought another one to use as a second set of headphones connected to the same TV. No matter what I tried, including following the instructions, I couldn't get the second set to pair with the transmitter for my first set. Since they are sold as a complete set with a transmitter, it was decided to fit a second set with its own transmitter. I used an optical output on my TV so I had to buy a splitter cable to connect both channels. Now both work fine, but the verbal prompts for powering on/off/connecting the second set are clipped and barely audible. In light of this, I lowered my rating by one star. Update: I bought a third set to use on various Samsung HDTVs at my house. No interference - each is uniquely paired to each TV. So far the staying power in the first two sets has been good - no problems. However, with the latest purchase, the optical connector in the transmitter has become loose, making the connection unreliable. Let's see if I can get a replacement transmitter. Update: I bought a second set of these headphones and hooked them up to another Samsung HDTV in my house. I posted a question on Revain asking if they would interfere with each other while both are in use. The replies have shown that they don't bother and I can now confirm this by testing both sets. The Bluetooth connection is obviously separate for each earbud, which is great. My comments below on the first purchase still apply: Fairly easy to install allowing translated English instructions. My setup uses a Samsung HDTV with an optical connection to the transmitter. It worked immediately after pairing the headphones with the transmitter. The sound quality is good for the price paid. The wearing comfort of the headphones is normal. The controls on the headphones take some practice but work well. Only used for a few days so I can't comment on durability. A disadvantage? You can't leave your headphones on a charger indefinitely (mine uses USB from my PC). The instructions warn of overcharging, which shortens battery life. Even my 10 year old Sony headphones they replace can stay charged when not in use. I suspect a cheaper battery is used here to keep the price down. It's annoying, but not a deal breaker.
