Review on CURT 23082 Universal Tri Ball Trailer by Aaron Wood

Stumbled across it in an awkward position

I was glad to get this hitch lock as I was looking for a hitch lock that would fit my old (wider and taller) locking lever and this fits perfectly. Due to the size and configuration of my trailer's locking lever, the cable must be directed away from the hitch to secure the cylinder lock. However, I didn't realize that for the lock to work properly, the cable side of the cylinder lock needs to be face to the clutch. I managed to remove the barrel lock from the pen. I went back to the instructions and couldn't see any specific wording to indicate that there is a right or wrong cable orientation in relation to the direction the cylinder lock should be pointing. The only reason I could tell it wasn't locking was because I wanted to see how much movement there was between the pin and the lock, and bingo, the lock slid off with minimal effort. The manufacturer must state this explicitly, and there must be an arrow on the barrel showing the direction of the lock, otherwise someone will lose their pendant.
