Review on 🎧 Logitech Ultimate Ears 600vi: Premium Noise-Isolating Headset in Dark Silver by Kristen Smith

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Fairly cheaply made, bare wires are visible after 3 months.

When I bought these UE headphones I thought I was making a 'safe' choice. Here's a brand from a company that I know and trust and people are usually happy with. The sound quality of these headphones is pretty good - great bass, wide range, comfortable in the ears etc. However, the fact that they only lasted 3 months made me give an unfavorable review. I can't believe how disappointed I am with these headphones. After only three months, the wires at the end of the audio jack are already visible, although I completely "enjoy” this pair of buds. The shell has detached from the connector, bare wires are visible. Despite being kept in their protective case whenever they weren't in my ears, they fell apart like a pair of cheaply made $5 buds you can buy at your local drugstore. I emailed Logitech to request a refund or at least a replacement kit. However, as for the rating, I have to say stay away from them. I had a set of Westone UM1 headphones which despite LOOKING more fragile have lasted for over 3 years. For a $100+ pair of headphones, these UE headphones aren't as good as 1/10 the price. Definitely not worth the money (although you can get it 80% off). Disappointed. If you're like me, you might be choosing between them and the Klipsch equivalent (something like the S4i). Go with Clipsch. I have a feeling that the 90 degree (rectangular) audio jack is the root cause of this issue. It's just a design flaw that unfortunately doesn't change even if you manage to get a replacement. EDIT - Another small note. I just upgraded to iPhone 5 and the buttons don't seem to work anymore (no function - no volume - no play/pause - no answering calls). I'm not sure if this is an iOS 6 or iPhone 5 issue, but it doesn't work. If you have an iPhone 5, buy the cheaper version without the microphone/buttons if you need to use UE. In response to every email you sent, including those requested by Logitech), I finally received a new set of headphones. Hopefully this set will last a little longer.
