My child dropped a toy on the screen of the Wii U controller and crushed it a bit. but that was enough to make the touchscreen stop working. After some research I found that the LCD is still in working condition and all I need now is a digitizer. I was watching some YouTube videos about Wii U controller screen replacement and ordered this item. I'm glad I did because my Wii U screen is working great now. I've never replaced other screens like this so I was nervous. It helped to watch the video and get familiar with the inside of the controller even before I took it apart, so I felt pretty comfortable with it. Screwdriver is damn good. It has a magnetic tip that makes working with small screws much easier. This digitizer looks matte, but when everything is assembled and the screen is on, it doesn't stand out. Installation Note: The faceplate of the original factory digitizer you are removing has a very thin black plastic frame glued to it. You need this as a replacement. You need to gently pry it off (I used an X-Acto knife/razor blade. Heat from a hair dryer would have helped). Some videos mention it, some don't. The black frame ensures a tight fit between the digitizer and the body of the gamepad, preventing dust and crumbs from getting inside.
