Review on FoodVacBags 100 8x12 Vacuum Seal Bags: Sous Vide Cooking, Food Storage, BPA Free, Commercial Grade, Heavy Duty by Kenneth Rich

New bags are poor quality and tear easily

Have been ordering bags (pints, quarts and gallons) from this seller for years and so far have been happy with the quality and price. The liter bag order I received in May 2018 is completely different - the bags are MUCH thinner and the texture inside the bag is different. Because of this, the bags don't vacuum well (I find it impossible to get all the air out) and they need to be sealed twice to keep the liquids in the bag. The thinner plastic also means that even vaguely sharp objects (like bone-in chicken breast bones) can easily rip through the bag if I'm not INCREDIBLY careful - I've already lost a few pounds of meat from the freezer from putting it on I don't understand, that holes have formed in the bags from rubbing against each other in the freezer. FoodVacBags have been great in the past but I think now I need to find a new manufacturer to store my groceries.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Unfashionable
