When reinstalling my old DVD player I wanted to do it the easy way. While removing the Blue Ray player I noticed that both the television and the DVD player had HDMI ports. This made it simple. First, I ordered a cable through Walmart Prime. This process is easy and quick, with free shipping, and they have my credit card on file. Second, I made sure that I ordered a KabelDirekt HDMI cable. I started using KabelDirekt products last year, and couldn't be happier with them. They are well made, sturdy, and come with an 18-month warranty. I have several of their cables now, and plan to purchase more of their products as the needs may arise. I plugged the DVD player into the power source, and used the HDMI cable to connect the television to the DVD player. Everything works exactly as expected, and I now have a high definition setup with one cable instead of a non-HD setup using multiple cables. Why would I replace Blue Ray with DVD? Well, we had been using my daughter's Blue Ray player. When she graduated from college, got a job, and moved out, for some strange reason she wanted to take her Blue Ray player with her. Kids are funny that way. When I get through paying for her education I might then be able to buy my own Blue Ray player.
