Review on BioSkin Trilok Ankle Brace Hypo Allergenic by Christopher Theriault

Very effective PTSD splint

I have posterior tibial tendon (TTT) dysfunction. This orthosis adapts to each foot and can be adjusted to solve multiple problems. The video instructions are very clear. Although the bandage consists of a main "sock" and two straps, once you see how to attach the straps for your specific problem it will be very quick and easy. My tendon is still healing and sometimes I feel sooo good and sometimes I have a sudden burning sensation that tells me to stop what I'm doing. Sometimes all I have to do is loosen the heel strap to relieve the burning sensation. Other times I have to remove the brace entirely, rest the ankle, and then put the brace back on. The orthopedist told me that this was perfectly normal during the long healing process. A very good piece of advice that a nurse friend gave me is to wear compression stockings. I now live in these socks along with a corset. The headband can be worn with my normal shoes (e.g. garden boots and soft slippers). However, I can't wear my short boots or ballet flats with suspenders. As for the cons, I have two issues with these braces: One is the seam that runs down the center of the arch at the toe. Now that I can be on my feet longer, I've found that after a while this sting is a bit uncomfortable (today was a real pain). Why on earth does the manufacturer think a thick seam in this area is a good idea? My second issue is with the strap that wraps around the instep. Buckle and heel strap in black. This lifting strap is white. Again, why would anyone think this is a good idea? There is no need to distinguish one strap from the other as they are two completely different shapes. The white strap gets dirty immediately from the inside of the shoe, and it gets dirty very quickly. I have to rub a bar of soap on both sides of the strap, then rub the soap into the fabric, then rinse and it still looks dirty. Those two irritants aside, I find that these braces help a lot. It has held up very well for a few months of daily use and I am very happy to have it.
