Review on πŸ”΄ WhiteRed Garmin Forerunner 920XT Replacement Band by Doug Destruction

Keeps breaking after 12-18 months of use

This is my third Garmin 920xt strap. Bought as a replacement in April 2019; failed as seen in photo, July 2020. I like a watch that has endured less than 9-15 hours a week of serious swimming, biking and running in Hawaii's hot and humid climate for several years, but the strap is rubbish. I could buy a couple of watches for less than the cost of a replacement strap, and the strap would last longer with the watch that came with it. Garmin, if you want to make a premium product at premium prices, make sure you're not including a part that falls apart once a year. If I can't get Garmin to send me my fourth replacement strap for free, I'll look for a fake. In my opinion, it can't be worse than OEM. Update: Even though the warranty has expired, Amber from Garmin Support sent me a new wristband free of charge. Thank you Garmin! One star is for good service. Unfortunately, Garmin has no other alternative to this inferior strap, so I expect the next strap will dangle while swimming and break in about a year like the last three. I will also order a more durable copy when available. I see this as a consumable and maintenance cost that you should have extra on hand, like internal cameras.

  • Package Weight: 1.0 lbs
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
