Review on πŸ” Grommet Eyelets Setting: Achieving the Perfect Diameter with Ease by Adam Matthews

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Great if you already know eyelets!

I would have preferred 3.5 stars for this but I would be wrong on the side of 4 instead of 3 because the product is just great. There are no instructions. I had a good idea of what I do to start by watching a thousand tutorials (I do suits and corsets go without saying) but if you're hoping the set will teach you then stay tuned to the top. Youtube has your back, but I understand others who are frustrated by the lack of documentation. The kit itself is pretty good for what it is. All the parts you need except the hammer are included and work quite well. The included grommets are rolled up with only a few tears that didn't affect the strength or snagging on anything. The puncher sucks, I could never get it to work without cutting a huge hole in my test fabric. I, MacGyver, have turned my household tools into a tailor's awl. Anyway, I was planning on using the stitching method instead of stamping (I'd heard it makes stronger bushings) so that didn't bother me. Perfect, no fraying/tearing. However, if you're making more than 20 of these I suggest looking for a press or tongs rather than hammering them all in with a hammer, but it's doable! Expect quite a bit of pain in your arm around the number 15 or 16. The basic instructions for those reading are: you pick up your item, mark exactly where you want your holes to be, calculate the impact, or poke a hole barely large enough to dent your sleeve. Place it on a steel disc with a rod attached, insert a washer from top to bottom to the fabric, use a silver tool with a small indentation and a hole on one side and a hammer, then knock out the case . as smoothly as possible. arrow, jack. If I run out of bushings, I will most likely buy a new tool kit and another box of bushings even though the tools are still in pristine condition.
