Review on Mademax Solar Bird Bath Fountain Pump - 4 Nozzle Free Standing Floating Solar Water Fountain For Garden, Pond, Pool & Outdoor by Doug Friedman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

looks cute but easily empties the water out of the bird bath!

When I first set it up in our bird bath, I thought it was defective.it just kept spitting rhythmically. BUT, later, it was a steady fine spray. I realized it was sensitive to cloudy days! There was no real assembly, just pop on whatever spray head included, BUT the spray is so fine, the wind just blew it out of the bird bath.so.keep an eye on the water level.Tip: if the water level is running low, or you want it to stop, you can either put something over it to block the light, like a flower pot, or just turn it upside down.tip2- if it's in a bird bath or somewhere that might get pollen or other detritus in the water ,turn it upside down regularly to check and clean off gunk from the intake. The pump is easily moved to clean it.a plus.tip3- it tended to float over to the edge of hte birdbath, so it was spraying hte water out.I put large rocks around it, leaving enough space for water to get to it, but to keep it from 'wandering'.One odd thing- even bird sites say birds like moving water, but when I started using it, the birds who used to splash around stopped using the bird bath! Of course, I wasn't watching it all day1 :-PI DO recommend it, and will probably get another one in the spring to put in a large planter that I plan to turn into a water feature in the garden.just be aware that it only sprays up a little over a foot, not as powerful as a powered spray. Was still fun next to our patio.

Pros
  • Eliminates the need for constantly changing the water in birdbaths
Cons
  • The pump may not be strong enough to push water through long tubing
