As with all electronic devices of this type, you must read the extensive manual before you can get good results. POP mode seems to give a lot of false positives so I turned it off as I did with the X-Band. By figuring out what was corrupting and just running the rest, I was able to get good results, i.e. warnings only when needed/justified. I used a long drive (3.5 hours one way) to calibrate the detector. This means I got a good combination of signals. The most common hoax was the POP/instant-on alert. This is understandable considering that the alarm appears to be caused by a CHANGE in RF power and not a specific frequency. In short, I heard the detector a lot more than I wanted to go to my target. On the way back - adjusted my settings and viola! No false alarms! I have received three (3) triggered alarms and three very real RF detection sources including the VG-2. Overall very happy with this purchase. updates to follow.
