This is a product that fishmongers will not want you to buy. This is the same product as Seachem Prime, only in a concentrated powder form. If you have large tanks, this is the way to go. Now I have 800 gallon tanks and do 50% water changes weekly and it has lasted a year. I suspect I will have it for several years. This question often comes up in our fish groups; "When do you add the dechlorinator?" and my answer for you while you fill it in. Once I turn the water over to pour straight into my tank, I sprinkle the powder where it fills to allow it to dissolve (although it's not even necessary). You can add the powder before filling, during filling, or after adding the filling is complete and your fish should be fine. I used to live in California where the water was TERRIBLE and even my tender roasts could handle it. Before putting it in the aquarium, there is no need to put it in the bucket, it is inconvenient. FYI, this product smells incredibly bad, this is normal. The fresh storage container gave me a headache when I first opened it. So keep the container closed if possible and consider putting it in a ziplock bag.
