The flow rates for these new cartridges are slower than the original cartridges and it has always been annoying, but the latest set I installed today is even worse. The spec is 1.1 gpm, but at 57 psi inlet pressure I only get 0.23 gpm. It should flow more than four times as fast. I wanted to see if there was any pressure loss or clogging anywhere other than at the cartridges, so here's what I did: (1) I tried to measure the flow rate while the inlet hose was running. straight into the tank - it was definitely over 3 GPM; Can't say how much more as it was a powerful jet and squirted out of the container - no delivery issues! (2) I blew out the internal mounting lines with compressed air - there are no obstructions. (3) I measured the flow rate with the hose inserted directly into the filter outlet and got 0.24 gpm. (4) When reseating the exhaust hose, I measured only 0.23 gpm at the faucet. It was 96% speed with no tap, so I can rule that out as an issue. as high as I can set the regulator without going over my water heater's pressure rating of 60psi (it's in the basement so its pressure is 3psi higher than what I can get under the kitchen sink. I used to have the pressure regulator higher discontinued, but it has damaged my water heaters - after replacing two leaking water heaters and my other brand water filter ruptured and splashed water under the sink, I gave up and started adjusting the water pressure to the advertised level.) This can be the The only way to get a reasonable flow rate would be to install a second set of filters in parallel and replace the cartridges annually instead of every six months. I think this will give me up to 0.45gpm which is still pretty bad. I miss wasting old filters! Also, I see that they're made in Taiwan, which is surprising - I usually find a high level of quality control with Taiwanese manufacturers, so working so far off specs is unexpected.
