I gave my previous car magnetic holder to the car rental and was looking for one with a strong magnet; I've had regular magnetic car phone holders and they've never been strong enough to securely hold my iPhone Plus with a case without fear of it falling with every bump. No problems with this magnet, it holds my large iPhone with an outgoing case very securely. This circle design works with the new iPhone 12 and 13 which have this metal ring already built in. My phone is an older version and they have 2 different rings, one a little thicker than the other. You can stick the ring on the back of your phone or case. Both rings are not that thick but I chose the thickest option to get the best grip as I use a medium sized case with my phone and the phone has never been dropped. The mount on this phone is good too, protrudes further than any other mount I've had and attaches very securely to the vent, allowing me to tilt the phone in many more directions than my previous mounts allowed. Overall I'm very happy with this mount and will definitely use this version again if anything happens to this one.
