I have used a cheap $10 harness on my dog for the last two years and it has been terrible. The straps are not tight, everything slips. Also, my dog has to intervene, which is really annoying when he's excited to go for a walk. Eventually I decided I'd had enough and it was time for an upgrade. This suspension is such a huge improvement! It feels like great quality. The straps are a little tricky to adjust but once you get them exactly where you want them they stay in place. The padding is very comfortable and does not slip over the entire surface. Mild areas feel a little hot, so if you live in a warm climate this might not be the best choice. My dog is a 12 lb terrier mix and wears a size S. The straps are pulled out as far as they will go. So if your dog is a lot bigger than mine, you probably need a medium size. This pendant is such a huge improvement that I keep kicking myself for wearing an awful pendant for so long. I definitely recommend it.
