Yes, you have to fold the tops of the envelopes down yourself. No, there's no sticky to the envelopes at all. BUT. They did come with adorable little stickers to seal them closed, and the paper and envelopes with the floral designs are SO worth it. If you want cute stationary to write to your friends like you're in Victorian Era England, this is absolutely an amazing set.
