Review on πŸŽ‹ Ibambo 100 Pack Disposable Bamboo Straws: Compostable, Single Wrapped, 8 inch Eco-Friendly Straws for Hot & Cold Drinks at Restaurants, Bars, or Home by Raquel Jackson

Maybe I caught a faulty batch?

They are so fragile and fragile. I've used bioplastic or compostable straws for years (avocado and cane straws are my favorites, but I've also used rice and corn-based straws - they all work better than these) and my general rule of thumb for choosing an eco-friendly disposable straw is , that it cannot contain any major allergens and should stay in my cup almost as long as a plastic straw. This satisfies the first condition but not the second, not because it will disintegrate, but because it simply cannot withstand lateral pressure. Once I unroll these straws, they are so delicate and brittle that they automatically squeeze in, leaving tiny air pockets on the sides of the straw, making drinking uncomfortable. If you even try to fit this into a regular lid with a slot for a straw, the sharp bits from that plus-cut area will get stuck right in there, rendering the straw unusable. i have lids with slots for straw and although they fit on these lids without putting pressure on the sides to crack the straw, one of my kids loves to chew on the straw for a bit and the straw broke completely in his mouth and had to spit out pieces of it. I photographed how easily it breaks with a little pressure from the thumb. I do not recommend them if you plan to use them with one of the straw lids that you can get at most restaurants and cafes, or if you chew on a straw, even if you are very careful, or plan to use them in them to use sundaes you need to poke straws to get at the last liquid because they will collapse completely. I've used one in a can of sparkling water and it worked fine as long as I never got used to it, so I think if you're just using it as a large cocktail straw you might be fine.
